Description: The status shows 2 in queue and no current processes happening I minimize the app and switch to another app in the foreground and then I go back and the media count hasn't changed and the queue still says 2.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the ios app
2. Click on Nav menu
3. Click Media Backup
4. Disable Backup when app starts( Background backup states foreground syncing maybe affected so that is why I disabled.)
5. Turn on Background backup
6. Minimize app
7. Wait
8. Open app
Expected: when the app is minimized(in background) the media backup would continue processing
Actual: backing up media stops
Thanks for your report.
We need to admit that iOS background backup is somewhat broken / non-functional in a current form.
Firstly it has pretty low chances of being triggered by the iOS (something that S3Drive can't fix really).
Then even if background job is triggered (which happens usually overnight when charger is connected) the amount of time is often not enough for process to finish. Bigger files might never be uploaded since multipart upload doesn't have efficient auto-retry (There is a room for improvement on our end, to make upload more efficient).
Finally, there is a bug that background setting interferes with the standard backup.
Current descriptions of background backup on iOS says:
This feature is experimental and may interfere with the foreground backup.
Sorry if we haven't made that more clear. We should probably disable that feature, but we haven't made that in a hope that we will get to this issue sooner.
We're hoping to get to this and apply improvements, but we're busy with lots of other work, including improved timeout/error handling and managed storage.(edited)
Thank you for the transparency I spent 12.99 CDN on the ios 1 year subscription just to unlock this feature. will it be worked on in the next 12 months or is this like a XL tshirt size?

I can't promise anything regarding timelines.
It's unlikely this will be worked on in the next 6 months. If you bought subscription solely for this feature then you could request refund from Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/118223 and give us a chance in the future.
Sorry for the hassle.(edited)
Some purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books or other Apple services may be eligible for a refund. You can use any device with a web browser to request a refund.
